07 Dissipative working clothes, the typical ESD arm- band with a spiral cable and electrostatically safe tools are standard components of such a work- place. These tools are marked accordingly. ESD tools from ELORA conform to the ESD- standard DIN IEC 61340-5-1. They are fitted with handles of special conductive material, whose surface resistance is in the range 10 6 to 10 9 Ohm. The handle size provides the required contact surface to the hand of the user to ensure that the discharging takes place in a “soft” manner that is gentle on the materials – sensitive components and assemblies remain fully functional despite the mechanical intervention of humans.
